Who is Kira?

Kira Morton, MS, RYT fell in love with yoga while living in Anchorage, AK 8 years ago.  She enjoyed the flow, the energy and sense of balance it brought to her life.  Wanting to share the benefits with others, she completed a Level-One certification with YogaFit.  When she returned to her roots in NY, she went on to complete her 200-hour certification with Yoga Mountain in New City.  There she practiced yoga as an art of gentle persistence.  In 2007 Kira trained with Shakta Kaur Khalsa, founder and director of the Radiant Child Yoga Program.

Kira encourages her students to tune inward, supporting the fluidity of their practice and their search for bliss.

Kira holds a Masters Degree with dual New York State Certification in Childhood Special and General Education, from Bank Street College of Education in NYC.  She is a first grade teacher in the Westchester, New York, and has found that incorporating yoga into the classroom is the fuel that keeps her class running.  She creates a fun, playful and developmentally appropriate environment in the classroom, and on the yoga mat.

Kiras yoga experience includes teaching women to overcome addiction, chair yoga for seniors, crossing language boundaries in Brazil, and pioneering childrens yoga and teen yoga programs in Westchester, NY. Her approach is a holistic one, providing an understanding of the importance of a whole, healthy being for the growth and development of your child.

Private Sessions are also available for children, teens, and adults.  Call or email for more information.
